According to Christian Reader Magazine "Specific studies of sexual trends among Christian teens have been limited, but all indications are that on average, there is little difference between their sexual behavior and that of non-Christian youths, other than a tendency to delay their first sexual experience slightly longer." The Pregnancy Care Centers of South Central Indiana have developed a new purity program in response to this troubling information. Transformed is a pro-active, positive approach to establishing God’s standards for teens and their parents.
The Transformed program consists of 5 individual sessions including:
- Parent Orientation: Meeting with parents only, encouragement will be given regarding the significant impact they have on the behavior and attitudes of their teen. The goals and topics covered during the program will be presented.
- Session One: “Do not conform to this world....” The sexual overexposure of our culture will be compared to God’s truths.
- Session Two: “...Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” God’s gift of sex for marriage will be discussed along with practical steps for living within God’s standards.
- Session Three: Parents and teens will be divided into gender groups to explore God’s truths regarding issues facing their unique age and stage.
- Purity Ceremony: Parents, teens and invited guests will participate in a ceremony designed to pledge themselves to sexual purity and integrity.
